Rabbit – Kalulu
32,90 € (sis. alv)
One of the most popular characters in Zambian folktales is Kalulu. A cute little rabbit with big ears – but despite his innocent appearance is both wise and cunning. Kalulu is often a bit too brave for his own best but always ends as the hero of the saga. The critical lesson of the fables of Kalulu is that intelligence and vigilance triumph over strength and muscles. Life without Kalulu would be peaceful and quiet – but quite dull in the long run. Yawama’s crochet rabbit is a playful figure that puts color into childhood!
Kalulu and its colorful dungarees are crocheted from safe and ethically produced cotton yarn. The soft toy is designed in Sweden and created by hand by women in Zambia. Your purchase provides a much-needed income for the woman who has made it.
Kalulu is a unique gift for children of all ages.
No 2 toys the same
We always strive to be as true to the original design as possible. With that said, you can not find two Yawama toys precisely the same. It is part of the charm of buying handmade. Some animals are longer, shorter, rounder or slimmer than the toy you saw in the picture. However, we promise that every toy has its charm and the same high quality. Yawama animals are as unique as the women who produce them.
Each soft toy is approximately 27cm from head to feet.
